Calvin got a job!

It's a thin line between fries and shakes.

Pending a background check and drug test, I've got a fulltime gig selling compooters to small biz for Dell. Looks like a pretty good opportunity, and ideally my days of Hill Country Fare mac & cheese will soon be behind me. For all those who've asked, a quick read thru the benefits handout didn't mention anything about an employee discount, so it appears that the only hookup I'll be getting will be with that cute chick in cubicle 5. Holla!

Other news:

• We're shooting the video for Ike's new group which may or may not have a name yet. It's an issue they should really address. Assuming I'm featured, I'll do my best to look sexy for you. *wink*
• Recent events haven't left me much time for music, but I hope to get back to it after the weekend, when things have calmed down.
• Saw SoaP last night. Brilliant. Just brilliant.
• RIP Nikki, aka 3rd I of OKP. Her passing was terrible news and I wish the best to all who knew her.
• You now have one week till the Baby J Birthday Extravaganza. Be prepared.

RIP Bruno Kirby

What with the "City Slickers" reference I dropped last night, I couldn't help but notice that Bruno Kirby, a.k.a. Ed from that movie, passed away last week from Leukemia. I don't recall seeing him in much other than that, but he was funny in that one role. Peace to him and his fam.

"Shut up! Just shut up! He doesn't get it! He'll never get it! It's been 4 hours! The cows can tape something by now! Forget about it please!"

So yeah, this whole "three times a week" thing hasn't gotten off to a great start, but fuggit. I WAS ON VACATION!

Anway, yeah. The trip to SA from Saturday night to this evening was a lotta fun. BBQ with the Perez kids, partying downtown, Zeale and Phran at limelight, afterparty @ Dave's, trying unsuccessfully to run that baby out of energy. Not mad at all.

To all the SA fam, good to see your crazy asses again (and thx as always for the hospitality). Don't forget what I told y'all abt 2 weekends from now (hinthint).

Some highlights:

• Learning that Rodrigo is a pimp @ age 2
• Amanda learns the difference btwn "good kinky" and "bad kinky" (which side Kinky falls on remains to be seen)
  
• The grass-on-the-face incident
• 4 AM BBQ'ing

So...yeah.

Due to repeated requests to bring my other blargh, East Austin Stories back, and the fact that I've stopped writing pretty much completely for a few months, I decided to start posting a blog again. But I didn't really want to pick up the old one for a couple reasons:

• Livejournal is kinda wack compared to blogger.
• The format of EAS was kinda limiting...it was all little short stories/vignettes, and sometimes I wanna do something else.
  

So this is the new home of my babbling on the internet. It'll have some stories, but also other content including opinions, other web content I find entertaining, and probably a few advertisements for things I'm involved in. In short, I've made it more...um...bloggy.

Anyway, I hope you like what you see, and I promise, unlike my first blog, to update this one at least 3 times a week. Scout's honar. Lemme know what's good.
